Employees, directors, and ultimately companies have a strong place to play in shaping the culture of our organizations and ultimately our country. I am in support of Tim Cook’s below stance against hatred and racism:
“Hate is a cancer, and left unchecked it destroys everything in its path. Its scars last generations. History has taught us this time and time again, both in the United States and countries around the world.” – Tim Cook
The last week’s demonstrations were an apparent display of racism, hatred, and ignorance. These demonstrations are also a showcase of what millions of people face every day in more subtle, harder to pin down, acts of racism or acts of apathy towards those affected by racism. I myself am deeply grieved about the current state of affairs and extremely optimistic in the latent capabilities of mankind to show forth love and constancy for one another.
I believe that “when a thought of war comes, [we must] oppose it by a stronger thought of peace. A thought of hatred must be destroyed by a more powerful thought of love.” – `Abdu’l-Bahá
